‘Bomb-prank youth feared cops would gun him down’
A teenager who set off a massive explosion causing £10,000-worth of damage at Salford Quays fled the country because he believed police would shoot him on sight as a potential terrorist. Karl Jessop, 19, exploded two industrial-strength fireworks inside a cast-iron waste bin at Millennium Point last September.
